The Anoka Heritage Preservation Commission (HPC) is promoting the Historic Plaque Program. This program was established in 2006 to increase public recognition of historic properties throughout the community.
In order to qualify for this program your house must be over 75 years old and meet a review by the Anoka HPC. The review will include the exterior condition of the home and the appearance of the overall property. Upon receiving your application, the HPC will review the property and verify the historical information. If you are selected for the program, you will be notified on how to obtain your City of Anoka Heritage Preservation Historic Plaque. The plaque will be mounted on the exterior of your home showing the year your home was built, that your home is historic, and the Anoka Heritage Preservation Commission name. The plaques will be made out of cast aluminum with gold lettering and a dark bronze background. Homeowners are responsible for the cost of the plaque.
