We're bringing holiday magic to the Anoka Community!  The City of Anoka is proud to host a festive and enchanting tree lighting celebration designed for families and neighbors to come together and share in the joy of the season.

This year's 35th annual event takes place at Anoka City Hall River Plaza (2015 1st Ave), on Saturday, December 6, 2025, from 3-7 p.m.  

Event Details  
Join us for a festive celebration that’s fun for the whole family! Most activities are from 3-7 p.m. unless otherwise noted below.  

• Visit with Santa & Mrs. Claus in the Santa Shack  
• Listen to the magical sounds of the 7th Avenue Carolers 
  (4:45-5:45 p.m. at 2nd & Jackson)
• Savor holiday music throughout the event
• Indulge in delicious treats sold by food trucks/vendors
• Take a scenic ride on the horse-drawn trolleys (3-6 p.m.)  
• Warm up by the bonfires
• Visit the live reindeer, llamas, and petting zoo
• Snap photos at various selfie stations
• 5:55 p.m. Gather by the tree for the welcome and exciting countdown to the tree lighting  
• Don't forget the Artisan Delights Winter Market will be at The Mill Site - 111 Harrison Street from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.  (see detail below)
• Shop downtown Anoka for your holiday needs on your way to the tree lighting event!

Toys for Joy

Toys for Joy will be collecting new, unwrapped gifts for children in need! Gifts can be dropped off at their booth in the plaza.  They are also selling s'mores to enjoy around the bonfires.  

Anoka Women of Today

The Anoka Women of Today will be gathering non-perishable food items and monetary donations for ACBC Food Shelf to support those in need this holiday season.
They will also be selling hot chocolate to enjoy!
